Sharing day 2, and the final piece of the consultation with Joe. Tomorrow I will share the creative process behind how I took this conversation, and turned it into a beautiful piece of artwork for Joe to give the CEO.

This is not a piece of content that is formatted for the algorithm, and it took days to be able to put this together, weeks to create the shoe, and months to tell this story. But in this two minutes, how can you capture a 49 minute phone call, a man who has dedicated his life to saving children, families, and facing the hardest moments of someone’s life into a two minute video.

You can’t. But I am doing my best because this story deserves to be heard.

I’ve been sitting on this story for the last few m

I’ve been sitting on this story for the last few months, because I never knew how to share it with the public. I think I’ve found the words but I will admit this was the most emotional piece I’ve ever created.

I have created over 700 custom pairs of shoes in the last decade of my life, and this was hands down THE most special request I have ever been asked to bring to life.

This story is broken down into four separate pieces because not a single moment of this experience deserves to be cut, edited, or adjusted to fit the “social media algorithm” that we are told to perform for.

This is so much deeper than that, and I hope I can do this story justice and give it the attention that it deserves to be able to make this an incredible opportunity that I can share with so many more children and families who may be experiencing this too.

Sticking with something for 15 years, you’re bound to get a little better at it, right?

Sometimes people try to make fun of who I was in middle school, but if I’m being honest, I always loved making content, making people laugh, and not caring what other people thought. If it was funny, if I liked it, it was going on the internet. Yeah I made home made memes, what about it?!

So I hope you laugh because I surely did.

Everyone always asks me “where do I start if I want to do my own thing”

My response: “well what is your definition of success?”

There are no metrics for winning, or even losing… if you are shooting aimlessly. With no specific goals, there’s no way to ever get what you really want.

Every month, I start here.

What went well (celebrate the wins)
What didn’t go so well (truth hurts)
Where do I want to go (be realistic and then don’t be)
What do I really want out of life (but go BIG)
What did I actually do this month? (Where was my time spent)

Personal note: I’ve found that I’ve become a lot nicer to myself over the years as I reread what I’ve done and what I didn’t do, and I think that comes from my constant reminder to celebrate the wins.

As a high achiever, it’s so easy to focus on everything I didn’t do, but I’ve become a lot happier of a person when I’ve started to look at how far I’ve come instead of how far I am from who I want to be.

Make pumpkin cinnamon rolls
Try a new recipe (I’m thinking focaccia)
